    Federation Deepspace Research Station 39 appeared in the FASA Star Trek RPG module The Vanished. The adventure saw the Enterprise (or another ship) solving a mystery - the disappearance of an entire research station's crew without a trace. The station's communications officer was hailing the ship on visual when he vanished in mid-sentence. The mystery is complicated by the appearance of the I'Iglii, an uncatalogued amorphous lifeform which categorises everything as either "good to eat" or "not good to eat". The I'Iglii are gelatinous sacs of protoplasm which eat by enveloping their victims and digesting them. A fine adventure with a well-thought-out station, although the deck plans leave something to be desired in their execution (in common with all FASA's deck plans).
